"Artists have the power to create new images. These new images are the starting point for creating something else. The artworks we exhibit have a single purpose: to show us what the world could be if we did things differently."

Previous experiences

Annelise Stern (b. 1998) is a French curator, gallerist, lecturer and author specializing in the female gaze(s) and its transmission. This idea of the female gaze (a concept developed by Laura Mulvey) proposes a subversive and introspective approach that redefines the representation of the body and female identity in the field of cinema and, by extension, the visual arts.

In 2019, after a bachelor's degree in art market - contemporary art at the EAC (Paris), Annelise Stern founds her first art gallery with the artist Caroline de Boissieu, dedicated to small works of art: MY LITTLE PAINTINGS. In 2020, she left this activity to devote herself to a new project, ART GIRLS, dedicated to the artistic expression of the female gaze. As part of this project, she organizes exhibitions, creates a statistical database on the presence of female artists at French art fairs, and creates the podcast ART GIRLS TALKS, which offers a series of career management tips for female artists. At the same time, she is pursuing two master's degrees at the Free University of Berlin, in art history and gender studies. In 2020, she will present a lecture series dedicated to women artists on topics such as "Social Networks, New Artistic Material" or "Women Artists, Feminism and Pornography.

In 2021, her discovery of web3 prompts her to build a personal collection of digital work by female artists and photographers, which now numbers over 300 pieces. She begins hosting NFT MORNING's "Girls morning" column with artist JessyJeanne, featuring portraits of women active in the digital space. In 2022, she co-founded the curatorial collective GXRLS REVOLUTION with artist JessyJeanne, working on the visibility of female artists in the digital world. With the curators Joséphine Louis, Léa Duhem and Marie-Odile Falais, they co-edited and published the first "CATALOG: 100 WOMXN ARTISTS TO FOLLOW IN THE NFT SPACE", the first document to focus on this issue internationally. Throughout 2023, the collective organizes a series of exhibitions with the support of major collectors such as Jean-Michel Pailhon and Dan Polko, and European unicorns such as TheSandbox. The works presented by the collective are part of major digital art collections such as that of the Arab Bank (Switzerland).

In 2023, together with art collector and former Sotheby's NFT specialist Brian Beccafico, she founded the fifty-fifty curatorial collective, dedicated to presenting the new digital photography scene, which organizes a cycle of exhibitions. In 2024, she opens a 300m2 space dedicated to the female gaze in the 92 district and publishes her new book "The Future of the Art World", which retraces a series of interviews with over 150 young art world professionals.
